How a Vintage is declared
Eighteen months after harvest, producers taste the lots and decide whether the year deserves a declaration. The decision is announced publicly and closely followed by the market.

When to open
Young (up to 10 years): intense fruit and firm tannins.
Mature (20 to 30 years): spice, dried fruit and great complexity.
